Canada: Falling Support for Terror War in AFGHANISTAN
That's right. Not Iraq, but Afghanistan. Not a proud day to be a Canadian.
I do believe it's time we stole another one of their hockey teams. That would get them angrier than a terrorist stealing another innocent life.

Don't believe everything you read in the news. Our pollsters cannot even predict an electoral win. I don't know who they are polling, but most people I speak to about Canada's military role in Afghanistan fully support the deployment/troops/engagement. My worry is there is not enough support from the nations who voted to invade to rebuild as per the madate. Not enough $$/expertise/non-military resources = no way Canadian soldiers can succeed and loss of life.
ReplyDeleteInstead of Canadian newspapers itching to sell copies by REPEATEDLY reporting on 'waning support' and military casualties, there should be a call to arms to increase worldwide support in the effort to rebuild. The more support rebuilding gets, the less time our troops have to spend in harms way. It is the right thing to do. Right and wrong don't sell newspapers though. Problems sell news, not solutions.
