It's a district that has historically treated Democrats well - no Republican has won here in more than 140 years.But the political winds are changing in the increasingly suburban and high tech-oriented area, with Republican Mo Brooks given a solid shot at making history for the GOP.Political scientist Jess Brown says the district's political mood has shifted so much that he believes it can be colored with red ink long before the voting starts on Nov. 2."The national mood is just so anti-Democrat," said Brown, political science professor at Athens State University . "The Democrat brand at the ballot box is not in vogue."
