Annexation is not the right word; a European country has to apply to become a member of the European Union.
ReplyDeleteNorway applied twice, and would have qualified. Then and now, a majority of the population favours receiving the EEA legislation without influencing the contents.
Legislation without representation, well that just might be construed as 'annectation'.
