continued to make gains on Thursday, announcing what could be the first
of several high-profile party switches and preparing for control of the
House.Sen. Gray Tollison, who has been a prominent Democrat in that chamber, said he had considered changing parties for "almost a year."
"I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead," he said.
