A poll taken this week for Vermont Public Radio indicates the two major-party candidates for governor are in a virtual tie less than three weeks from the election.Burlington Free Press
The poll from Mason-Dixon Polling and Research of Washington, D.C. shows that if the election were held today, Republican Brian Dubie would receive 44 percent of the vote while Democrat Peter Shumlin would get 43 percent. With a margin for error of 4 percentage points, that effectively puts the two in a tie.
