Poland Won't Sign Lisbon Treaty

The first day of the French presidency of the European Union was derailed this morning when the Polish President said that he would refuse to sign the Lisbon Treaty.

Nicolas Sarkozy conceded that Europe was facing deadlock over the treaty when it became clear that many of his main policy proposals were also struggling to gain acceptance.
