A quota to boost female participation in public office is more popular among respondents aged 18 to 34 (40%) and supporters of the Democratic Party (43%).
Majorities of respondents over the age of 55 (62%), Republicans (64%) and Independents (53%) oppose the idea of setting up quotas for women candidates.
