Taking a Shot at NHL Re-Alignment

Here's my plan:

Prince of Wales Conference
Adams Division
Boston Bruins
Buffalo Sabres
Montreal Canadiens
Ottawa Senators
Quebec (Thrashers)

Patrick Division
New Jersey Devils
New York Islanders
New York Rangers
Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins

Don't Know What to Name This Division
Carolina Hurricanes
Columbus Blue Jackets
St. Louis Blues
Tampa Bay Lightning
Washington Capitals

Campbell Conference
Norris Division
Chicago Blackhawks
Detroit Red Wings
Minnesota Wild
Mississauga Panthers
Toronto Maple Leafs

Gretzky Division
Edmonton Oilers
Calgary Flames
Hamilton Predators
Vancouver Canucks
Winnipeg Coyotes

Smythe Division
Anaheim Ducks
Colorado Avalanche
Dallas Stars
Los Angeles Kings
San Jose Sharks

Once the teams settle down and become stable, then we can start talking about expansion again!

UK: Clegg Compares Nazis Favorably to Britain

Adolf Hitler portrait, bust, 3/4 facing right."Danke, Herr Clegg!" Image via Wikipedia
Nick Clegg has claimed that the British people have ‘a more insidious cross to bear’ than Germany over the Second World War.
In an astonishing attack on our national pride, the Liberal Democrat leader said we suffered from ‘delusions of grandeur’ and a ‘misplaced sense of superiority’ over having defeated the horrors of Nazism.
He said we found it hard to accept that Germany had become a ‘vastly more prosperous nation’ and that ‘we need to be put back in our place’.

ANOTHER New Jersey Politician Switches to Republican Party

Map of New Jersey highlighting Salem CountyCarneys Point is in Salem County (Red) in southwestern New Jersey. Image via Wikipedia
[Carneys Point] Committeeman Dr. Joseph Racite has decided to change his political party affiliation back to Republican after a short stint as a Democrat.

The decision came early last week as Racite went down to the Salem County Board of Elections to complete the process and switch his political party.

“Its more for philosophical reasons than anything else,” said Racite. “I just think my ideals are more in line with the Republican Party.”

New Jersey: Yet ANOTHER Burlington County Democrat Switches to GOP

Township Councilman Rick Prickett became the latest local elected official to switch political parties.
Prickett, who served as a Democratic council member for more than seven years, announced Friday that he intends to run for the council in November as a member of the Republican Party.
"I've been a Democrat for more than 40 years," Prickett said. "I chose to become a Pemberton Republican because I believe those individuals share values similar to those living in our township."

Pennsylvania: Toomey Raises Twice as Much Money as Specter

Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., raised $1.16 million in the first quarter of 2010 and has $9 million in cash on hand.

However, that was less than half of the $2.3 million his Republican challenger Pat Toomey raked in during the same time period.

Chris Christie Allows New Jerseyans to Hold Their Heads High

{{w|Christopher_J._Christie}}, U.S.Image via Wikipedia
MTV's hit show "Jersey Shore," featuring Mike Sorrentino, the guido extraordinaire nicknamed for his impressive abs (they're a "Situation," apparently).

Recently, though, I've been holding my head high, thanks to Jersey's new governor, Republican Chris Christie, a man who hasn't seen his abs since the "Born to Run" tour -- if ever. In the 2009 race, our last governor, Jon Corzine, ridiculed Christie's weight, then left him with the gruesome political challenge of closing an $11 billion deficit, the largest gap per taxpayer in the United States.
