And that canceled moderator's report, obtained by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers, would become the first of three different tallies produced by or attributed to Bridgeport election officials as they counted votes during a sleep deprived, pressure filled period between Nov. 2 and Nov. 5.CT Post.com
None of differing tallies showed Democratic Gov.-elect Dannel Malloy losing to Republican Tom Foley or reduced his margin of victory to the threshold that would trigger an automatic statewide recount.

In this latest survey, Simmons leads 86 - 5 percent among Republicans and 53 - 30 percent among independent voters, while Dodd takes Democrats 67 - 16 percent.

Mayor Eddie A. Perez sat in his office at city hall on a late June day in 2007 and assured a pair of state criminal investigators that the rumors weren't true, that he had long ago paid in full for the $20,000 renovation at his home by city contractor Carlos Costa.
He could even get them the canceled check to prove it.
But barely an hour and a half after Perez said goodbye to the investigators, the mayor was in the offices of the Hartford Federal Credit Union filling out an application for a $25,000 home equity loan. It fell to Perez's lawyer nine days later to tell investigators that the mayor, in fact, had never paid Costa for the work that had begun more than two years earlier.

O'jahnae Smith is ready and registered to vote this November.
There's only one problem: She's 7 years old.
The Connecticut girl is 11 years too young - and nobody in her family knows how she ended up on a voter registration form submitted by ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
"She's registered to vote?" said a surprised Jerome Smith, O'jahnae's teenage brother. "She's too young to vote."
