Southern State Shows White Male Democrat is About as Viable as Smallpox at This Time

Great Seal of The State of AlabamaImage via Wikipedia

I would also add white MARRIED women to this vanishing group of Democrats. Anyway, here's what they have to say:
Roger Jones, Tommy Ragland and Mark Craig, Billy Bell and Jim Smith are all white male Democrats holding local elected offices - a categorization that now puts them on the endangered species list.
Men like them once ruled the Earth - or at least politics in Alabama and Madison County - but the atmosphere and the electorate have changed.
A local Democratic Party leader and three elected Democrats have their own ideas about why their numbers are dwindling. Tagging local Democrats with labels associated with the national Democratic Party's position on issues is chief among the reasons cited.

Democrats Lack Enthusiasm for Voting

Self-portrait of Joseph DucreuxImage via Wikipedia

Gallup:
PRINCETON, NJ -- In thinking about the 2012 presidential election, 45% of Democrats and independents who lean Democratic say they are more enthusiastic about voting than usual, while nearly as many, 44%, are less enthusiastic. This is in sharp contrast to 2008 and, to a lesser extent, 2004, when the great majority of Democrats expressed heightened enthusiasm about voting.

Republicans Likely to Take Over Senate in 2012

WASHINGTON - NOVEMBER 19: In a break with man...Jeff Flake image by Getty Images via @daylifeReal Clear Politics:
But the Democrats’ chances of holding the Senate aren’t particularly good. Right now Republicans hold 47 of the 100 seats; if they win the presidency, they would need to pick up three more seats to have a majority. As of today, they are favored to pick up two Democratic seats. Two Republican seats are tossups, along with six Democratic seats. If we assume Democrats pick off one of the two Republican tossups, and that Republican pick off half of the Democratic tossups, Republicans would have a 51-49 majority.

Voters View Republicans as More Partisan, Yet Still Support Them Over Democrats

Partisan FailImage by colarusso via Flickr

One Rasmussen Report story says this:
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 27% of Likely U.S. Voters believe that congressional Democrats are acting on a bipartisan basis.  Although that finding is up just a point from last month, it’s the highest level measured since regular tracking began in late January 2009. Prior to the last two months, belief that Democrats are governing in a bipartisan fashion has remained in the narrow range of 18% to 24% for over two-and-a-half years.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) say Democrats are acting like partisan Democrats, while 16% are not sure.  (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Only 19% say congressional Republicans are acting in a bipartisan manner, a finding that has ranged from 17% to 27% since early 2009.  Sixty-four percent (64%) say GOP members of Congress are acting like partisan Republicans.  Seventeen percent (17%) are undecided.
While another says this:
Republicans post a five-point advantage over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, September 11. The GOP has led on the ballot every week since June 2009.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican in their district’s congressional race if the election was held now, while 38% would choose the Democrat instead.
They came out on the same day. So voters think Republicans are more partisan, but they like it because the other alternative is the Democrat Party.

Republicans More Than Double Generic Poll Lead From a Month Ago

Likely voters prefer Republican congressional candidates over Democrats by 7 percentage points in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll out Wednesday — up 4 percentage points from a month ago.
Republicans hold a 50 percent to 43 percent lead among likely voters in the generic ballot matchup, a measure asking voters whether they'd prefer to vote for a Democrat or a Republican for Congress.

Dissapointed Obama Voters Flooding into the GOP

WASHINGTON - JANUARY 27: U.S. President Barac...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
It's a wide enthusiasm gap that's buoying Republicans, who are poised for big electoral gains, and worrying Democrats, who are seeking to hang onto majorities in Congress as well among governors. Obama's party hopes its superior get-out-the-vote operation, updated from his groundbreaking campaign, can overcome Republicans' energized supporters to mitigate expected losses across the board.
While no president can be expected to fully rally his supporters when he's not on the ballot, the survey illustrates the wide scope of Obama voters' disappointment with the president and his policies almost halfway through his first term — and two years before he's likely to seek their backing again.
"He's not listening to the majority of the people who elected him. It's like he's ignoring his base," said SaraSue Crawford of Jacksonville, Fla., who points to Obama's health care overhaul law. She's deciding whether to support Republicans in the hopes of "shaking up the status quo" and restoring a balance of power in Washington. She says she may back Obama in 2012 — if he changes course by listening more.

Maybe he will, maybe he won't (run, that is) -- but Arkansas state Sen. Bob Johnson's announcement that he is mulling a Democratic primary challenge to U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln is an indication that even members of Lincoln's own party view her as a potential target in 2010.

Nearly everyone seems to agree that President Obama is bleeding liberal support over his overly conciliatory approach to the GOP on health care reform and his apparent softening of support for the public option.

But is it true?

Yep, it certainly may be true, if you believe the new Research 2000 poll for DailyKos. The survey finds a surprisingly sharp drop in the favorability ratings of Obama and Congressional Dems — among Democrats.

2010 makes Democrats nervous

Nancy PelosiImage by BMigulski via Flickr

Although few Democratic officials have concluded that it's time to start panicking, there are disturbing political trends developing right at the time that members are starting to think seriously about the midterm elections.

The outlines of a significant political problem have emerged: the possibility that the White House simultaneously disillusions liberal Democrats and angers Republicans.

Nevada: Sandoval Leads Governor's Race

Trouble is we don't know if he's running.
According to the results of the poll conducted by Washington, D.C.-based Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc., 17 percent of Republican voters would support Gibbons in the primary, well behind 33 percent for Sandoval.
In a Democratic primary that includes Goodman, Reid got support from 13 percent of voters, trailing Buckley's 25 percent and Goodman's 34 percent.
Sandoval was the respondents' favorite candidate in every general election scenario, leading Goodman by 7 percentage points, Buckley by 8 and Reid by 17.

The percentage of Americans who hold a favorable view of the Democratic Party has slipped below 50 percent for the first time since President Barack Obama took office, according to a new Pew Research Center poll released Wednesday.

Only 49 percent of Americans now hold a favorable view of the Democratic Party, down from 62 percent in the same poll shortly after Obama assumed office. Democratic favorable ratings hovered around 60 percent as recently as April, when 59 percent of those polled held a favorable view.

Lazio Goes After Cuomo: Preview of Governor's Race?

Rick Lazio, member of the U.S.Image via Wikipedia

With polling continuing to show low public support for New York Gov. David A. Paterson, 2010 political watchers are shifting their attention to his fellow Democrat, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

In another sign that Cuomo is the consensus front-runner for the governor's race, GOP gubernatorial hopeful Rick Lazio went after the popular attorney general Monday, putting out a press release condemning Cuomo's decision not to continue an investigation into the hiring of state Sen. Pedro Espada Jr.'s son, Pedro G. Espada, for a job with the state Senate Democrats.

Democrats Secretly Hoping Obama Gets Assassinated?

the 44th President of the United States...Bara...Image by jmtimages via Flickr

Out of nowhere the mainstream media has started floating scenarios of shady 'militias' and 'Nazis' who are crawling around all over the United States of America hoping to pick off Barack Hussein Obama.

Every president that has ever lived has had to deal with potential murderers—and some have dealt with it by being killed. But the fact that there are some wackos who want to kill Obama suddenly has become news and Leftist politicians and their controlled media are milking it for all it is worth. They are trying to tie in this perennial crop of nuts with the veterans, grandmas, grandpas, doctors, patients and their loved ones who are fighting hard to stop the Great Leader's imposition of his Obamacare.

Most people say, 'What the hell are you talking about, you stupid Democrat mouthpiece!' But to those who are spewing this hot drool, it seems to be a fun question. It is almost like they are enjoying the possibility of the President being shot by some crazy person so they can blame the average American citizen for killing him. They seem to be longing for this future.

The Left is even willing to sacrifice their beloved Great Leader if it will advance their fanatical ideoligy. They might even say to Obama, 'What have you done for me lately...?'

Harry Reid Accuses Americans Protesting Socialist Healthcare of 'Sabotage'

"These are nothing more than destructive efforts to interrupt a debate that we should have, and are having," Reid said. "They are doing this because they don't have any better ideas. They have no interest in letting the negotiators, even though few in number, negotiate. It's really simple: they're taking their cues from talk show hosts, Internet rumor-mongerers ... and insurance rackets."

About 20 protesters gathered in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Thursday to let Democratic Rep. Scott Murphy know they oppose the health care plans in Washington. They carried signs saying: "Obamacare Seniors beware! Rationing is here," and "If socialized medicine is best ... why didn't Ted Kennedy go to Canada?" Motorists honked as they drove by.

Desperate Democrats Still Attacking Bush

ARLINGTON, VA - JUNE 12: Virginia Democratic ...Instead of offering new ideas, Creigh Deeds attacks Bush. Image by Getty Images via Daylife

Is that all they have to use as ammunition? I guess so:

Convinced that Americans still hold Bush responsible for the nation's economic woes -- and will show more patience with Democratic policies if reminded of their dissatisfaction with the eight years of his presidency -- Democratic candidates have stepped up efforts to link GOP opponents to Bush, repeating a strategy that helped them take over Congress, the White House and a number of state offices in the past two election cycles.

In Virginia, Democratic gubernatorial candidate R. Creigh Deeds has pounced on statements by Republican Robert F. McDonnell indicating that Bush's tax cuts were good for the economy in the years after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The Bush name has littered Deeds's statements in the past week.
