California: Fiorina 'Seriously Considering' Challenging Boxer

In the strongest signal yet of her political ambitions, Carly Fiorina said Tuesday that she is "seriously considering" challenging U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer in next year's California Senate race.
Fiorina, who had surgery for breast cancer a month ago, said she is about to begin chemotherapy at Stanford Hospital, but then plans to resume a busy schedule.

Massachusetts: Deval Patrick's Poll Numbers Show He is in Trouble

A 7News/Suffolk University poll of 400 registered voters conducted March 17-20 showed 40 percent of respondents approved of Patrick’s job performance as governor, while 49 percent disapproved with 11 percent undecided. When asked if Patrick deserves re-election, 34 percent said yes, 47 percent said it is time to elect someone else, and 20 percent were undecided.

Republicans Gain in Party ID

In March, the number of Democrats in the nation fell two percentage points while the number of Republicans fell by half-a-point. Democrats continue to have a sizable advantage in terms of partisan identification, but the advantage is smaller than it’s been since December 2007.

Currently, 38.7% of Americans say they are Democrats. That’s down from 40.8% a month ago. It’s also the first time the Democratic total has slipped below the 40% mark since the Republican convention bounce last September.
